We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Exploitation Engineer who will serve as a key member of the Reservoir Development team. In this role, the successful candidate will be a key leader in the reservoir development team and support the production operations and business development teams. The role delivers on short term optimization and troubleshooting, mid-term project generation and implementation, and support for long-term growth opportunities, ensuring value creation and long-term sustainability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and execution of CO2 enhanced oil recovery (EOR) annual capital programs. Prioritize and optimize development capital to maximize asset value.
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline team to identify, evaluate, prioritize, plan and execute brownfield optimization projects, new developments, and growth opportunities.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in areas relating to reservoir development, recovery schemes and royalty management.
- Lead regulatory applications and amendments for CO2 EOR and Storage scheme development.
- Evaluate alternative reservoir management opportunities, applicable new technologies and advance reservoir performance understandings.
- Manage field reserves.
- Integration of Measurement, Monitoring and Verification (MMV) plans into field development strategy ensuring CO2 containment and supporting credit verification.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members and cross‑functional team members.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience managing EOR floods such as water, polymer and steam is an asset.
- Proven technical expertise in one or more areas of reservoir engineering, exploitation engineering, or production engineering.
- Versatile approach of working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent prioritization and time management ability to deliver results while working under deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with teams across multiple locations (Calgary and field sites) and communicate engineering insights effectively.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of oil & gas development along with project/field economics and cashflow modelling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emphasising collaboration and integration.
Specific Qualifications:
- 10+ years of industry of experience in upstream Oil and Gas with focus on Reservoir & Field Development.
- Bachelor’s Degree with significant on-the-job experience in Engineering or a related field.
- PEng designation (APEGA) or eligibility for registration
- Proficient in the use of Geoscout and Microsoft Office. Experience in OFM, Power BI and other industry tools would be an asset.
