About Enhance Energy
Enhance Energy is an Alberta-based carbon utilization and storage company. With over 8 million tonnes of CO2 emissions permanently sequestered in Central Alberta, the Enhance team plans, designs, implements and operates large-scale carbon capture utilization and sequestration projects that manage Alberta’s industrial emissions safely and securely.
Our core values of Embrace Challenges, Collaborate Actively, Be Accountable, and Get It Done! drive our people and projects forward.
We create value by developing world-class, efficient, and trusted CCUS projects that decarbonize global commodities and the energy we produce.
Your Fit Within the Enhance Team
As we grow our CCUS business, we are fostering an environment that supports developing the best people who are committed to making an impact in the CCUS sector. We are seeking a diligent Environmental Analyst who will serve as a key member of the Enhance team.
In this role, you will act as the lead emissions data analyst for existing and upcoming CCUS and CCS projects, taking full responsibility for carbon credit generation quantification, and reporting requirements under various GHG emissions compliance programs. The high standard of data organization, analysis, and diligence of applying the quantification methodologies will support Enhance’s reputation as a high-quality carbon credit creator operating safe, permanent, geological CO2 sequestration projects.
Additionally, this role will support regulatory reporting across our operations and environmental activities. Keeping an eye out on the evolving regulatory landscape will enable operations to maintain best-in-class compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and continuously improve data collection, integration, retention, quantification, and reporting workflows supporting the creation of environmental products under compliance programs (TIER, Clean Fuel Regulations) through the creation and management of quantification workbooks and programs, offset project plans, offset project reports, and credit creation reports.
- Manage third-party verifiers to complete required reviews of credit creation activities.
- Support air emissions compliance reporting across Alberta, and Saskatchewan, including methane, NPRI, and provincial/federal GHG reporting and forecasting.
- Provide technical guidance, compliance support, and quality control for data collection and metrics reporting across Enhance assets and facilities.
- Monitor regulatory changes, assess business impacts, and provide clear summaries to internal stakeholders.
- Identify and manage technical and non-technical regulatory risks; recommend mitigations to support project success.
- Engage project partners, external data providers, operations and cross-functional teams; maintain organized records of submissions and communications.
- Coordinate internal and external support during compliance audits and assessments.
- Collaborate across the business to understand strategic objectives and resolve regulatory matters tied to projects.
- Provide streamlined regulatory support for projects by managing timelines, decision points, and key milestones.
Experience and Skills:
- Transforming complex, real-world datasets into structured, usable data.
- Using empirical data to solve complex technical problems in a scientific, analytical, or applied research setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Alberta TIER Regulation, Clean Fuels Regulations, quantification methodologies and verification processes.
- Knowledge of the CCS, CCUS and oil and gas industries would be an asset, ideally including experience related to methane, emissions inventories, measurement, operations, or production systems.
- A quantitative and technical mindset, including experience developing or evaluating analytical, statistical, or scientific methods.
- GHG project and inventory reports and verification reports conforming with the ISO 14064 series standards to be listed on various compliance program registries
- Experience with methane measurement technologies, reconciliation, or uncertainty analysis is an asset.
- A problem-solving mindset, including the ability to identify opportunities, propose practical solutions, and respond thoughtfully to challenges or objections.
- Careful attention to detail, particularly when reviewing emissions datasets and analytical outputs from emerging measurement technologies.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute across a range of work, from detailed technical execution to broader strategic thinking.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Specific Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industry of experience in emissions quantification or verification.
- Bachelor’s Degree with on-the-job experience in Engineering, Environmental or Data Science, Statistics, Business or a related field.
- Proficient in the use of CATS, Alberta Carbon Registries, and Microsoft Office.
